Back in the fall of 2006 John was playing the lead in their school's production of Cyrano de Bergerac. Brittainy's roommate was the director. One moon-filled night she asked Brittainy to fill in and read lines as Roxanne. "The soul--it was your soul!"
Slowly, quietly, over cups of tea and reading C. S. Lewis on the steps of Brittainy's dorm, our love deepened. Through dozens of letters, drives through the Virginia countryside, and visits to Blackfriars playhouse, we knew this was meant to be. In 2009 we promised to love one another forever...
